Full House, L-O-V-E, & Other Musings

Good afternoon! Hope you're having a splendid day.

  •  Remember the show Full House? I'm totally a '90s kid so my sis & I watched it absolutely all the time. Well, Candance Cameron Bure who played DJ, the oldest of the Tanner girls, is all grown up and has just written an awesome new book about her journey to finding physical & spiritual health.

Snatch it up now on Amazon!
  • Thump thump. Thump thump. Hear that? It's the sound of these adorable sparkly clips approaching, and just in time to for V-day. Kudos to ban.do for letting us play dress-up with our shoes.

Wear your heart on your shoes. Or - say it with your hair. Ahh. Must I choose between the two?

  • And I have to mention the ever-lovely Diane Kruger who graced the cover of Glamour this month. Holy jumbalaya. She looks amazing. Her style is effortless but chic and eye-catching all rolled into one.

  •  In other news: my roommates are still hilarious. Just a brief sampling of some things they've said over the past week:
"What do you mean you can't find the house? That's what you do.
That's your job. Your job consists of you driving around and finding people's
houses, for a living."
-CS to a delivery man who was over 11/2 + hours, um, "lost"

and

"No, no. You're no longer pregnant at this point. Girl, you're just holding
that baby hostage!"
-CM to our 9th mths pregnant friend who claims that by simply crossing
her legs, she will determine when her coming-any-minute baby will be born

Because He* lives,

No more grey

"You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance."
Psalm 65:11

I saw this verse over on Beth Moore's blog.  What a great way to start off 2011 - with the promise of God's faithfulness.

And speaking of promises, wouldn't it be fantastic if we all swore off boring, blah winter coats?

No more grey!

I've been wearing the same grey jacket all week. But no more. Leighton Meester's variety of colorful, cheery coats are so pretty to look at.

Even her b & w coat is a friendly escape from the same ole' standby

I think I should get a bright green one stat . . .

Happy weekend!

My lovely readers,

The weekend has arrived! What do y'all have planned? It's a busy time of year with all the Christmas recitals to sit through, holiday parties to attend, and visiting relatives to entertain.

I'm going to take a note from Kate Spade and drink a few warm beverages [hopefully to help soothe my raspy throat once and for all],

go watch Black Swan with friends,

finish up some last minute Christmas shopping [inflatable penguin included],

and celebrate a sweet friend's college graduation. Yay!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's the middle of the week, also known as Hump Day [insert Mean Girls reference here] and What I'm Loving Wednesday. Here's a list of several things that are inspiring/amusing/getting me through the day today.

I'm loving a classy dress like this for NYE. Pink is the new pink. Break out the bubbly and your dancing shoes and let the count down to the new year begin!

After hearing about a friend's terrible, please-let-this-be-over-now coffee date last night, I'm loving that how to lose a guy in 10 minutes is only appropriate.  If laughter really is the best medicine, take two big doses. Stat.

I'm loving this fun, Christmas DIY project. Check out Everything Fabulous's tips for how to make a classy ornament wreath using just a wire hanger, ornaments, and some glue.  Start signing "Martha Stewart" as your middle name.

If you're still searching for the perfect black puffy winter coat, here it is! No really - it's 60% down, belted at the waist, and has a removable fur hood. And it's all yours for $34.98. I'm loving the price tag of this jacket. Score!

I'm loving my world-classy small group. Couldn't ask for a more lovely group of ladies to meet with each week. Together, we're a hot mess, sharing our struggles and triumphs, & growing in our love for the Lord. And it's the best part of each Wednesday :]

I'm loving a holiday take on the ever-stylish "Keep Calm & Carry On." Just makes me want to burst into song!

And another.  I can't get enough! It's just so darn festive and I'm loving how fantastic it would look hanging above my couch.

This. photo. cracks. me. up. Seriously, my friends are crazy and I'm loving all the amazing memories we've shared . . . including the times we wear fake 'staches. Just 'cause.

I'm loving pretty lights.

I'm loving that I fly home to see my family in less than a week!

I'm loving that we can say thanks to our troops who are
away from home & their families, serving our country during this holiday season.

I'm loving this song that beautifully describes the
true meaning of Christmas.

Happy Wednesday, y'all!

Spruce Up Your Monday Wardrobe

The weekend has come and gone, and now it's back to the 9 to 5 life.  In need of an outfit that looks somewhat more presentable than the now rumpled blouse and pants you wore to work last Thursday?  Lucky for us, StyleCaster has put together 15 easy and chic outfits using 15 pieces that most of us already have hanging in our closets.

Don't you just love it when outfits put themselves together?

Mustard sweater + cable knit skit = winter whimsy

Cozy blazer + cropped pants = casual polished

Warm cape + suede booties = ladylike appeal

Check out the other 12 outfits for enough wardrobe inspiration to get through the next two weeks of business meetings, lunch dates, and afternoon errands around town.
