How to Sail Through the Storm[s]

Ever have one of those days when everything is smooth sailing and then bam - out of nowhere comes a huge storm in your life?

That would be today for me.

But even in the face of trials, it's important to remember the truth & promises we find in God's Word.  Check out this passage from Philippians 4:6-7:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Is it easy to just give all your financial or physical or relational or work-related worries over to the Lord and say, "Okay, it's all yours now." Nope. But is it worth it? Definitely. Turn to the Lord and He will bring you comfort, even in the middle of your darkest, most terrifying storm.

In our life here on this earth, we're either just leaving, soon approaching, or smack dab in the middle of a storm.

As the insightful author Louisa May Alcott famously stated, "I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship."

The next time your smooth waters start getting rough and the wind picks up speed, turn to Christ and our loving Heavenly Father will guide through the storm.
